Devicescape doesn't work with the Nokia E71, Causes the phone to reboot continuously when trying to access wifi.
Uninstalling cures it, but be warned if you have Internet Tel set up to connect automatically like I did, you will need to..'Hold Green, 3, * and turn on your phone to format it, as it goes in a loop of rebooting that you can't get out of.

This is now being widely reported across the net, Devicescape in incompatible with both the E71 and E66
DO NOT install if you own these devices, it causes the devices to instantly reboot when using any application that uses WiFI regardless to whether devicescape is set as the access point.
It appears to possibly be a problem with the Hotspot Framework that is installed along with Devicescape.
..........Over to you Devicescape

We have identified the cause and submitted a new client with the updated framework to the test house for certification. If you cannot wait the ~1-2 weeks for our signed version and you need immediate relief for this issue please private message with your IMEI number (type *#06# on your phone).
We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi all,
I am using a Nokia N78 since some weeks and experience quite similar issues when I try to install the devicescape application. The phone directly comes up with a message stating that the application is not compatible with that phone. If I force the application to install itself anyway, the phone is some kind of puzzled afterwards regarding WLAN connections and the corresponding profiles.
Do you expect, that the new version of the devicescape application that will work on the E71 will also be compatible with the N78?
In case I shall test anything on the phone I am happy to support. I loved to use devicescape on my old E65 and would be very happy to have it on the N78 as well.
Thanks a lot in advance for an answer!!
Cheers, Lansester

Hi Stods,
We will have a new S60 client release in a couple of days, which will support the E71device. If you want to have it sooner, please message me your IMEI number. We can provide a package to you.

Hello Lansester,
This specific issue seems isolated to E71 and E66 (later 3.1 devices). The version that fixes this will be out as soon as the testing house lets us.
The N78 is a 3.2 device and we are working on a another, newer version to support 3.2 devices. The way WiFi is exposed is different so it is more effort. Sorry for the inconvenience! We may contact you to help test as our 3.2 version matures. Can you PM me your email address and IMEI number (type *#06# on your phone)? Thanks for volunteering!
George

The new version (2.0.53) of our S60 client that supports E71 and E66 (later 3.1 devices) is now available as our download from devicescape.com.
Thanks everybody for their patience and understanding, George
